Fisheries Science is a multidisciplinary course that teaches about the discipline of managing and understanding fisheries. The course, fisheries science teaches the different disciplines of aquaculture like breeding, genetics, biotechnology, nutrition. It also teaches about fish processing which includes curing, canning, freezing, and by-products, among others. A person studying Fisheries resource management is also taught biology, anatomy, taxonomy, physiology along with a fisheries environment which includes oceanography, limnology, ecology, biodiversity. Fisheries science teaches technology that includes navigation and seamanship, gear and craft engineering, marine engines. Fisheries economics and management and fisheries science extension. The fisheries science course offers students with Undergraduate, Postgraduate and PhD degrees.
