About Col. D.S. Raju

Col. Datla Satyanarayana Raju, better known as Col. D. S. Raju. He was born to Datla Ramachandra Raju in Poduru, West Godavari District in 1904. He was educated at Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, Guy's Hospital, London and Chest Clinic, Vienna. He was a Permanent Commissioned Officer as a Major in the Indian Military from 1934 to 1945. He is a multi faceted personality with a rare distinction of being an outstanding doctor, a freedom fighter, a union minister and a philanthropist. Being an outstanding doctor he was the personal Physician of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. He was founder and president of the Medical Education Society in Kakinada. Dr. Col.Raju was elected for the 2nd Lok Sabha, 3rd Lok Sabha and 4th Lok Sabha from Rajahmundry (Lok Sabha constituency) in 1957, 1962 and 1967 respectively. He was Deputy Minister of Health, Government of India, 1962-64 and Deputy Minister of Defence, 1964-66. He has also represented India at World Health Conference held in Geneva. Dr. Col. Raju was instrumental to start Childrens Ideal School, Ideal Junior College & Ideal Degree College

About Dr. P.V.N. Raju

Late Dr. P. V. N. Raju, an Eminent doctor and educationist, a humanist, completed his medical degree in Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam. He was F.R.C.S. of U.K. He joined Indian Army and awarded Captainship. He worked as honorary surgeon and honorary professor in Government General Hospital, Kakinada. Along with Col.D.S. Raju and others like Dr. M.V. Krishna Rao, he established Rangaraya Medical College (1958), Childrens Ideal School (1960), Ideal Junior College (1970) ,Ideal Degree College (1974) and then onwards P.G. Courses(1992).
