Dr. K. Jhansi Lakshmi _{H.O.D in Chemistry,  cum Convener of Women Empowerment Cell}

Women Study Cell was established in the academic year 2003-04. According to The Circular given by the commissioner of Collegiate education in 2015, the Women Study cell was renamed as WOMEN EMPOWERMENT CELL. WEC brings awareness among girl students by conducting work shops,seminars, rallies, and awareness programmes on gender bias from then onwards. Women empowerment cell organised five day SAM work shop on CAPACITY OF WOMEN MANAGERS IN HIGHER EDUCATION under the guidance of UGC in the academic year 2012. The Cell organises competitions in creative activities in designing (Rangoli) every year.

2014-15
Awareness campaign on Sexual abuse and trafficking of women.	Rangoli on 8-01-2015	INTERNSHIP camp in collaboration with AP TRIBAL WELFARE EDUCATION INSTITUTIONAL SOCIETY. Seventeen girl students acted as Counsellors in camp held at Rampachodavaram. They Got stipend of Rs.5000/- per head from VOICE OF GIRLS (NGO ORGANISATION), Hyderabad.
