About Department

A Food Science and Technology Department is an academic and research unit focused on the study of the physical, chemical, biological, and engineering principles related to food systems. It encompasses the understanding of food production, processing, preservation, safety, nutrition, and quality control. The department aims to apply scientific and technological knowledge to develop and improve food products and processes, ensuring food safety, enhancing nutritional value, and promoting sustainability in the food industry.

Vision

To be a center of excellence in training, research, outreach and consultancy services in Food science and technology with emphasis on value addition of agricultural produce, processing, technology driven conservation of food, nutritional goodness and food security.
